In recent years, we have witnessed the rise of authoritarianism, the inflammation of racial violence, and the deepening of divisions in America. Cynical lust for political power and personal gain have eroded trust in our laws and our Constitution, and have pitted Americans against immigrants, against the weakest among us, and ultimately against ourselves. Some have exploited growing vulnerabilities in our society, fanning divisions, and are openly attempting to undermine what America stands for. They highlight the dangers of ignoring what is actually happening in our country. Our system and the parties that represent us have been wired together to keep power where it is: in the hands of the few and out of the many. In theory, parties are designed to represent the interests of party leadership. Although by all appearances they seem to communicate “representation” of a constituency, this is often not the case. Instead, candidates are increasingly selected based on the interests of party elites. This is the system. Most people exercise their political agency through their vote, after which the connection between the public and the party representative is lost. Democracy without genuine participation is passive citizenship. The problem we face is that "We The People" do not have a proper stake in our government.

 

We do not feel our voices are heard, wherever these voices may come from, from all walks of life, all political parties, and all persuasions. This problem is what the National ConsensUS Party (NCP) is focused on solving.We want to give the silent majority their voice back. We want to place the power back in the hands of U.S. Citizens. We want to hear from you.The definition and description of democracy are made clear in our U.S. Constitution:Party responsibility is the attribution of collective responsibility to the political party in power for the performance of government. It is the core idea of a model known as responsible party government. The model is rooted in the proposition that a necessary precondition for TRUE political responsibility is full power. NO INDIVIDUAL OFFICE HOLDER has sufficient power over a government's actions to be meaningfully held responsible for those actions. Only a political party is powerful enough to control what a government does and therefore be effectively responsible for it.
